About this wine:
As a source of grapes for Consilience, we introduced the Hampton Vineyard for the first time last year with our 2002 vintage Syrah. We’re fortunate to have access to this fruit from the private vineyard of one of the most well respected vineyard managers around, and this vintage seems to be even more rich and complex than the last. In keeping with the Consilience style, this is a brawny, fruit forward wine with dark berry flavors and just a hint of mint. After a restful two years aging in oak, the tannins are assertive but still supple enough to be approachable now. If you’re looking for a wine that can hold its own against a Steak Fiorentina, this might be the answer.
