About this wine:

Deep in the warm eastern end of the Santa Ynez Valley, there is an area aptly referred to as Happy Canyon. Life is good in Happy Canyon. The hills just seem a little hillier, the days a little sunnier. The ranches are big, and the cowboys have cattle. There on a south facing rocky slope, the grape vines of the Star Lane Vineyard have labored for their existence. And like anything in life that requires a little effort, the rewards are commensurately greater. We are fortunate to source grapes from this spectacular vineyard and are happy to share the newest vintage of our Star Lane Vineyard Syrah. Picked juicy and ripe, this wine was developed in the usual expressive style of the Consilience reds, and aged a full 24 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels. The last vintage disappeared quickly, but for those who remember the characteristic bright, cherry and berry flavors and the velvety mouth feel, this may make you feel as if you have come home again.
