About this wine:
Situated in the Paso Robles area the Falcone vineyard is planted to both Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon and is the passionate evening and weekend project for the classy husband and wife winemaking team for Rusack winery, Helen / John Falcone. This is the first bottling of Syrah from this vineyard for Consilience, and our first bottling of a Syrah from outside Santa Barbara County. Just slightly less dense in color than the Hampton Syrah, this is still a moderately heavy bodied wine with rich cherry and plum flavors, a touch of licorice, and a fairly firm tannin structure up front that evolves rapidly in the glass to a nice supple texture. This is a great food wine that can stand alongside even dishes that have a little kick of their own.
