About this wine:
Situated in the Paso Robles area, the Falcone vineyard planting includes both Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon and is the passionate evening and weekend project for Helen & John Falcone, the husband and wife winemaking team for Rusack winery. This is the second bottling of Syrah from this vineyard for Consilience, and one of our only wines made of fruit sourced from outside Santa Barbara County. Just slightly less dense in color than the Hampton Syrah, this is still a moderately heavy bodied wine with rich cherry and plum flavors, a touch of licorice, and a fairly firm tannin structure up front that evolves rapidly in the glass to a nice supple texture. This is a very food-friendly wine that can stand alongside bold dishes that carry a little kick of their own.
